What's your Money Mind:

Heather is responsible for the overall operation of United Capital Risk Management. She is also responsible for integrating unbiased risk management strategies into the planning process at United Capital. Her expertise is educating advisers and clients on how properly designed, executed and managed insurance based products can augment global planning and financial stability. Her acumen and experience uniquely positions her to improve the lives of United Capital's clients, advisers and employees she works with.

Heather has been in the insurance industry over twenty years. Her experience, at some of the most venerable financial institutions in America, spans many facets of the industry at both corporate and field levels. Her corporate positions included Regional Sales, National Marketing Specialist and Director of Business Solutions. Her field positions included Sales Vice President, Estate Planning Consultant, Brokerage Manager and Associate General Agent. She has received recognition and numerous awards for her accomplishments in these roles.

A continual student of the industry, Heather has earned her Health Insurance Associate (HIA) designation and Managed Health Professional (MHP) designation from the Health Insurance Association of America. Heather has studied at The American College and has earned her Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Heather is also matriculated for her Charted Financial Consultant (ChFC) accreditation.

The desire to give back is a driving force for Heather. She has served on industry and philanthropic boards and committees. Athena International recognized her as their first nationwide recipient of The Young Professional Honor, recognizing Heather for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.

Heather resides in Florida with David, her husband of eighteen years, and Nathaniel, their six year old son. In addition to being a mom and wife, Heather's passions include reading, fishing and cycling.


Dave Cass

Regional Director, Risk Management

Dave has provided investment, insurance and financial planning expertise to financial advisers and retail clients during his career. He began as a financial adviser for Edward Jones and had the distinction of being named a Limited Partner. Also at Jones, Dave was Director of the Political Action Task Force for the state of Ohio, in which he formulated the strategy and led the efforts to lobby the elected state and federal representatives concerning crucial industry issues. Dave was also an adviser and Branch Manager for a Merrill Lynch office. In that capacity, he provided his institutional and retail clients financial planning expertise including investment management, retirement and legacy planning. He has worked for major insurance carriers, including John Hancock, Travelers, Lincoln and Sun Life as a Division Sales Manager. He was integral in planning a strategy and implementing it to help financial advisers and their clients access the products, tools and expertise these carriers have at their disposal. In this role, Dave was also a leader in measured performance. Throughout his career in the financial services industry, Dave's number one goal, no matter the capacity, has been to always do what is right for the client.

  • Regional Sales Manager with four Fortune 500 Companies in the Financial Services sector providing point of sales service in both annuities and life insurance, to financial adviser and their clients
  • Director of Business Development for Arthur Andersen in the central Ohio area for both Business Consulting and Tax & Audit divisions
  • Vice President at General American Life Insurance in the Private Placement division
