Jeff Kernodle

Managing Director

In his third decade in the Financial Services industry, Jeff Kernodle has built a business helping families and individuals pursue the goals that are important to them.  Jeff is a Managing Director with United Capital and works in our Nashville, Tennessee and Little Rock, Arkansas offices.  Having owned an accounting practice and served as an IRS Enrolled Agent, Jeff is uniquely qualified to understand the complex tax planning needs of our clients.

He advises families, executives, entrepreneurs, throughout the Southeast on all facets of financial and tax planning by charting their financial course with the goal of lifetime wealth creation.

Jeff graduated from Harding University with a degree in accounting.  Jeff and his wife have four children.  Their oldest son Brett will attend and play baseball at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.  Out of the office, you can find Jeff spending time with his family, playing tennis, racquetball, running or enjoying a Cardinals baseball game.

Giving back to his community and charitable organizations has always been a passion of Jeff’s. He served on the board of Searcy Children’s Homes and Crosspointe Preparatory School, has been a member of the Lions Club and is actively involved in organizations that benefit local communities.  In the future, he plans to continue working with organizations that support children with troubled backgrounds, adults struggling with financial literacy and youth sports.

Ben Katon

Managing Director

Though originally from New Braunfels, Tex., Ben is definitely an Arkansan at heart. He starts every morning with the Razorbacks by catching up on the latest recruitment updates, and has been actively involved in his local community since his graduation from Harding University with an economics degree.

Ben began work in the finance industry over twenty years ago before breaking out with Jeff to launch Kernodle & Katon in 2009, now a Division of United Capital. Their goal was to do more for their clients by taking the financial anxiety from them and into their hands.

When he’s not working with clients or keeping up with the Razorbacks, Ben enjoys golfing as a member of the “Double Digits Club,” a club started by Ben for bad golfers, or participating in his three sons’ various activities including quiz bowl and robotics.

In the past, Ben has been involved with Rotary, the Lions Club, served on the board of CASA of White County and, with Kernodle & Katon, worked to raise funds for Jacob’s Place, the Sunshine School, CASA and Good Samaritan Center of White County. Ben and his wife look forward to working with food banks, the local theater and children’s disabilities programs in the near future.
