Charlie Haynor, CFA

Managing Director

Charlie Haynor has over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. He joined Rayner Associates as an Analyst in 1990 and is now the Managing Director of The United Capital Mill Valley office, formerly Rayner & Haynor.

Charlie brings strong analytical and quantitative skills to the research team and portfolio management process, including broad expertise in the variety of planning areas offered by the Mill Valley team. He has developed proprietary tools for analyzing clients’ tax situations, real estate investments and cash-flow needs in the context of their overall portfolio and investment goals.

He is past President of the San Francisco Bond Club and is a member of the Marin County Estate Planning Council and the CFA Society of San Francisco. He has spoken on various investment-related topics at the Central Marin Rotary, as well as to students at the University of California, Berkeley, and Redwood High School. He serves as Treasurer for Grace Church of Marin and previously served on the boards of Food Runners and the Marin Boy Scouts.

Charlie graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Physics. Accredited as a Chartered Financial Analyst, he also has an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Charlie and his wife live in San Rafael with their son and daughter.


Hugh C. Ogilvie, CFA

Wealth Adviser

Hugh C. Ogilvie joined Rayner & Haynor, now the United Capital Mill Valley office, in 2005, bringing with him the diverse background needed to help people with high net worth integrate the many facets of their financial lives. Hugh has more than 20 years of experience building portfolios of stocks, bonds, funds, real estate and alternatives.

He started his career in the securities industry as an Executive with Paine Webber and later helped found United Security Trust Company, serving as an Investment Consultant and Senior Trust Officer for employee benefits clients. Most recently, he worked as a Portfolio Manager for Northern Trust in Marin County. His experience as a Portfolio Manager began with First Interstate Bank, later to become Wells Fargo Bank.

Prior to his involvement in the securities industry, Hugh sold residential and commercial real estate and, for a short period of time, sold precious metals and numismatic coins.

Hugh received a BA in Economics from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He and his wife live in Corte Madera with their three children.


Brian Frack

Relationship Manager

Brian Frack brings to our team a rich and diverse background of building strong relationships and developing solutions through in-depth research and analysis. Prior to joining United Capital in 2015, Brian served as an officer in the U.S. Navy submarine force and in Naval Intelligence. Following his service in the Navy, Brian worked as a Research Analyst in Management Consulting, led the Technology department as a Network Administrator and Programming Instructor in a U.S. international school in Venezuela, and served as a Pastor on a church staff for over a decade. A common thread running through each of these unique roles is the ability to assess complex situations, develop high-quality solutions and guide individuals and organizations toward a positive direction.

Brian graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a BS in Computer Science. He also received an M Di. from Golden Gate Seminary. Brian and his wife live in San Rafael with their three sons.
