Todd Pack, MBA

Senior Vice President, Field Operations

Todd Pack is responsible for the continuing revenue operations of existing offices and the assessment and due diligence of potential acquisitions. This role includes conducting opportunity audits and due diligence reviews for the purpose of acquiring financial advisory firms. He is also actively involved in forecasting, budgeting, cultural fit and risk assessment. In addition, Mr. Pack is responsible for working with each office on client case design which includes investments and risk management. In conjunction with this role, Mr. Pack chairs the Product Committee, which is responsible for the due diligence and training of products offered by the firm. This duty includes oversight of all acquired firms and their staff to ensure the highest level of integrity is maintained. He is also responsible for broker/dealer compliance supervision serving as the Super OSJ.

Prior to joining UCFA, Mr. Pack was the President of Virtual Management Solutions (VMS), LLC, a company that specialized in converting commission-based practices into fee based businesses. Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Pack was the Chief Operations Officer of Bommarito & Associates, Inc. (franchise of American Express Financial Advisers, Inc. ) a comprehensive financial planning and advisory practice which managed a total of $350 million in client assets. In this position, Mr. Pack was responsible for day to day activities that included a comprehensive client service program, marketing, supervised financial controls and completed forecasting, monitored compliance operations, human resources and supervised all staff members.

Mr. Pack was also a featured speaker and the Chief Operations Officer of the Business Resource Center, a company providing training to financial advisers in a lecture format. The focus of the curriculum is to enable advisers to achieve consistent and predictable results through practice management techniques. Mr. Pack was also a Professor of Finance and Economics at the Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan.

Mr. Pack received his MBA in Finance from the Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Michigan in Flint Michigan. He also graduated from St. Clair County Community College where he earned an AA in Criminal Justice. He has passed the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 exams and the NASAA Series 66 Investment Advisers Law Exam. He also holds life insurance licenses with variable authorized.

Mark Ciucci

Senior Vice President of Advice

Mark Ciucci is currently responsible for field advice implementation at United Capital Financial Advisers, Inc. In this role, he assists in recruitment efforts for candidate acquisitions, as well as the subsequent training in the UCFA advice and deliverable models.

Prior to joining UCFA, Mr. Ciucci was a partner in the firm of Bommarito & Associates, Inc. (formerly Bommarito, Ciucci & Associates, Inc.), a comprehensive financial planning and advisory practice and franchise of American Express Financial Advisers, Inc., which managed a total of $350 million in client assets. Mr. Ciucci's experience also includes fifteen years in field management with American Express Financial Advisers, Inc., with a final position of Divisional Vice President in charge of field operations in the Greater Michigan Division.

Mr. Ciucci is a Certified Financial Planner™.

Laura Widdows

Director of Field Operations
Operations Group

Laura is responsible for the execution of United Capital protocols. The protocols include but are not limited to implementation and training on advice, technology and risk management concerns through support to our regional offices.

Prior to joining United Capital, Laura started with Ameriprise Financial Advisers in November 1992.

Laura holds a BS in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood from West Virginia University.

She is a volunteer with the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter.

Brandon Moss, CFP®

Director of Advice Services

Brandon is responsible for coordinating the advice and financial planning activities across each of United Capital’s regional offices. He is in charge of the Centralization team that develops, designs, and produces the advice and investment management deliverables for each regional office. Brandon also works with advisers and meets with clients on specific issues as well as working with financial planning and investment management technology vendors.

His previous firm, Financial Synergies Advisory in Houston, Texas, was the first acquisition of United Capital. He specialized in working with oil and energy executives and retirees, small business owners, and other professionals. Brandon also worked with United Capital as it partnered and transitioned two other Houston area firms; Stabil Capital Management and Financial Synergies Retirement Advisers. Prior to Financial Synergies Advisory, Brandon worked for a prominent Houston trust company.

Brandon graduated with honors from Texas Tech University and holds a BS in Personal Financial Planning. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner and has been recognized by Reuters AdvicePoint as one of the “Top 25 Advisers” in the Los Angeles/Orange County area and one of the nation's "Top Advisors Under 40". His previous firm, Financial Synergies Advisory, was recognized numerous times by Bloomberg/Wealth Manager as one of the top wealth management firms in the country. He has been interviewed by media outlets such as SmartMoney, Money Magazine, Investment News, and the Journal of Financial Planning.

An avid golfer and former collegiate baseball player, Brandon lives in Newport Coast with his wife, Shelby, and their golden retriever, Webster.

Kelly Knight

Advice Manager
Operations Group

Kelly is responsible for facilitation of field operations, advice integration and overall revenue execution at UCFA regional offices. She participates in UCFA Educational services, training and development of Case Managers and processes related to client relationship management.

Kelly is a registered financial adviser, with experience as an advisor and field trainer within Ameriprise Financial. She executed private client group case management for Bommarito, Ciucci & Associates, a financial advisory  branch within Ameriprise Financial Advisors.

Kelly holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Ned Payne

Director of Product Development and Analysis

Ned Payne is involved in analyzing various aspects of existing regional offices in an effort to maximize client experience and improve practice efficiency.

Ned attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and attained a degree in Economics in 2005. After graduating Furman, he moved from his home state of Maine to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in financial services.

Prior to joining United Capital, Ned earned his FINRA Series 3, 7, 24, 55, and 63. He is currently a CFA Candidate studying for the Level I exam.

Gina Keenan

Associate Manager, Account Services
Operations Group

Gina’s responsibilities include supporting the regional offices and reviewing investment business for quality control using the guidelines established by the United Capital under OSJ supervision.

Prior to joining United Capital, Gina worked for Rincon Pacific Management and Girard Securities Inc. She has experience working at a wire house, a broker dealer and a Registered Investment Advisory firm. Gina also has experience in sales as a corporate recruiter for the Aerospace and Defense industry.  

Ms. Kennan attended Orange Coast College and Southern Nevada Community College, majoring in Psychology and Sociology.  She also volunteers through the Orange County’s Sheriffs Department mentoring adolescent incarcerated teenagers.
