Michael Capelle, MBA

Senior Vice President, Investment Management

Mr. Capelle is responsible for United Capital's investment platform and is the chairperson of the Investment Committee.  In these roles he oversees portfolio development, manager review, and investment operations.

Prior to joining United Capital, Mr. Capelle worked in private asset management performing investment management and financial planning services. Prior to 2000, Mr. Capelle worked at Intel Corporation for 10 years where he held various management positions within business planning, operations, and engineering.

Mr. Capelle earned an MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he also graduated with an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois, and has passed the NASAA Series 65 Investment Adviser Law exam.

David L. Hallman, CFA®

Vice President, Director of Research
Investment Management

Mr. Hallman is responsible for performing overall investment research at United Capital Investment Advisers, Inc., (UCFA) and is a member of UCFA’s Investment Committee. In these roles he develops and maintains UCFA’s portfolios and investment strategies including the initial and ongoing due diligence, selection, and replacement of investment managers. Mr. Hallman directs the Regular and Core Investment Committee meetings and is responsible for the agendas for both meetings. In addition, he is responsible for the Individual Bond Ladder Management at United Capital. Also, he participates in the drafting of the United Capital Quarterly Letter and writes the Weekly Talking Points for the United Capital Regional Offices.

Prior to joining UCFA, Mr. Hallman worked for several firms as a portfolio manager in both equity and fixed income management and research. He has extensive experience in asset allocation modeling and over twenty-six years in investment management experience.

Mr. Hallman earned a BBA and MBA at the University of Texas at Austin and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.

Andrew Lin

Director of Investment Operations
Investment Management

Andrew oversees the Investment Operations of United Capital Financial Advisers. He focuses on strategic development of United Capital back office resources and the tactical needs of our nationwide network of advisers.

Andrew began his career in the financial industry as an Analyst at Signature Estate and Investment Advisors Inc., a Los Angeles based boutique registered investment adviser of 8 planners managing over 1.2 billion in assets (as of late 2006). He has worked with high net worth clients; creating client proposals, investment models and advisor marketing materials. During his tenure at Signature he managed the back office, trade desk, and client reporting for the firm.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
He holds the CMFC (Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor) designation from the College for Financial Planning, as well as FINRA Series 7 and Series 66.

Andrew is an avid motorcyclist.

Wayne E. Boenig, CFA, CFP®, AIF®

Wayne Boenig serves as a member of United Capital Financial Advisers’ Investment Core Committee. He is responsible for researching and identifying the investment vehicles used to implement the Committee’s investment strategy. Wayne has been in the investment management and consulting field since 1988. He is the Chief Investment Consultant for PFE Advisors, Inc. d/b/a The PFE Group and a faculty member of the Boston University Program for Financial Planners.

Before joining UCFA, Wayne spent five years as Director of Quantitative Analytics at Loomis, Sayles & Co., L.P., a Boston-based investment management firm, where he also served as client liaison in the firm’s Consultant Relations Department. Prior experience includes nine years as Director of Manager research for LPL Financial Services and as Senior Investment Management Analyst for The Smith Barney Consulting Group. He has performed extensive research in the areas of investment performance attribution, risk management, and asset allocation modeling.

Wayne holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics from the University Of Delaware; is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
